Welcome to the Morton Grove Farmers’ Market
Season Two of the Morton Grove Farmers’ Market has ended on a high note! Our Halloween Costume Contest brought out adorable children (and adults!) throughout the day. You can see photos from our final day of the season on the Morton Grove Champion’s Photo Gallery or our facebook photo album.
Our first ever Winter Market brought hundreds of people in from the cold to enjoy music, shop, and eat. See the TribLocal article to read more about the Winter Market.
The Morton Grove Farmers’ Market managers are pleased to announce that the Morton Grove Farmers’ Market will be moving to its new location at 6210 Dempster Street at the start of the 2012 season. After scrutinizing several potential sites around Morton Grove, we selected this location due to its high visibility, popular central location, ample parking and its safe intersection for pedestrians and cyclists. At Thursday’s Morton Grove Park District board meeting, the Board voted enthusiastically to host the Market on its Dempster Street property near Harrer Pool and the Historical Museum. We are excited to begin this new partnership with the Morton Grove Park District. We would also like to thank Village Administrator Joe Wade, the Village of Morton Grove Trustees and our umbrella organization, the Morton Grove Chamber of Commerce, for helping us with our site analysis and our decision-making process.

The Morton Grove Farmers’ Market is a wonderful place to meet fellow Morton Grovers every Saturday morning. The Market is run by a hard working team of Farmers’ Market Committee Members and Volunteers.

Volunteer at the Market: Love us and want to join us? We really need you for just a couple hours each Saturday during the season to help us either set up, hang out at the Welcome Booth, or take down at the end. Email Kristina at kristina@mgfarmersmarket.com or stop by the Welcome Booth. You can also leave the market managers a message at 847.750.MGFM (6436) or allmanagers@mgfarmersmarket.com. Follow us on twitter @mgfarmersmarket!
As a relatively young Farmer’s Market, we are proud to have such a wonderful variety of vendors, entertainers, and community groups joining us. Every week at the Market, we will provide free face painting and/or henna tattooing AND family friendly entertainment.
Ryan of RC Juggles delights children of all ages with balloon creations, juggling, and yo-yo tricks.
The Morton Grove Farmers’ Market will have several festivals throughout the year, including Welcome to Morton Grove Day, Scouting Day, Summer Fun Fest, and Harvest Fest. MGFM Festivals will consist of all of our full season vendors PLUS additional festival vendors and gift vendors. Some festivals will have balloon artist RC Juggles and a bouncy house for the kids.
Local farmers from Blankenship Farm & Orchard, Lyons Fruit Farm, Red Barn Farm Market, and Providence Farm offer a wide variety of bedding plants, herbs, and seasonal fruits and vegetables. Look for Twin Garden Farms‘ famous Mirai sweet corn in the late summer at the Providence Farm booth.
Benhart Farms returns with excellent beef, pork, chicken, bacon, sausages, and eggs. Enjoy tasty treats from DiPPED, Joy n Pure Honey Nut Snacks, Le Flour Bake Shop & Market, and Maier’s Bakery. Pick up delicious specialty cheeses from The Cheese People or local honey and beeswax candles from John Bailey Honeys and Candles. Albo Acres offers an array of hand knit alpaca wool gloves, hats, ponchos, purses and blankets. Visit Annie’s Gourmet Olive Oils for a delicious variety of olive oils, vinegars, and dried seasoning mixes for dips, steaks, pasta salads, and stir fry. Quench your thirst with iced or hot coffee or lemonade from Super Cup Coffee Shop. See our Vendors Page for a full list of our vendors, including descriptions and video tours.
Donate at the Market!
Each week at the Market’s Welcome Booth, the Morton Grove Farmers’ Market volunteers will be collecting monetary donations as well as fresh produce and non-perishable food for the Niles Township Food Pantry (NTFP). Support the Niles Township Food Pantry with donations of produce from the market or your own donations from home. A NTFP representative will collect the donations as well as excess produce from farmers at the end of the Market day to help local families in need. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
