Welcome to the MGFM Archives!

Check out our previous events from 2011 and 2012:

May-12 Spring Market - Mother’s Day Pre-Season Sale

The Spring Market is our first event of 2012 as well as the first event in our new home: 6210 Dempster St.  We welcome back many of our favorite vendors from last year and are eager to get to know the new additions to our Farmers’ Market family!  The Spring Market will feature many gift items, just in time for Mother’s Day.  Our farmers will bring early spring produce, fresh cut flowers and bedding plants.  We will have plenty of prepared foods and drinks to enjoy at the market or bring home.  For a complete list of Spring Market Vendors, please visit our blog.  Please note that our Spring Market line up differs slightly from our Regular Season line up, since many vendors rely on seasonal produce to bring to our Market.

Our featured vendor of the week is Blankenship Farms.  Students from Golf Middle School‘s chorus and band will provide musical entertainment from 9:30 – 10:30 am.  Our Community Group of the week will be Shot @ Life.  Shot @ Life would like to increase awareness about global health and child survival.  The will provide information handouts, plegde cards, stickers, and white boards to write what you want to give kids a chance at in life.  At our Spring Market Sponsor table will be Bath Fitter – Chicago North.

Reporter Cathryn Gran shared a review of the Spring Market “Rain doesn’t put damper on Morton Grove farmers market preview” and Photo Gallery in the Morton Grove Champion.

Niles-Morton Grove Patch Editor Pam DeFiglio posted her wonderful article and photos from the Spring Market in “Farmers Market Gives Spring Preview.”

* In the event of severe weather (thunderstorms, high winds, etc.), the Market Manager on duty reserves the right to temporarily suspend or cancel the day’s activities.

It’s finally feeling like autumn, a cool snap in the air, pumpkins, squash and apples are the ‘thing’ while corn and tomatoes are winding down for the year.  This is one of the reasons I love farmers’ markets:  we get in touch with what’s in season and eat accordingly.  Better food, fresher flavor, changing with the year.
This is the last week for Mirai Sweet Corn, so get it while you can!
