How do I get Senior Farmers’ Market coupons?

Senior citizens (60 or older) can apply for the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP), which offers coupon books to those who qualify.  These Senior Farmers’ Market coupons can be used with certain vendors at the Morton Grove Farmers’ Market on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.
The program is geared towards senior citizens whose gross household income (i.e. before taxes are withheld) is be no more than 185 percent of the U.S. Poverty Income Guidelines ($2,470 a month for couples or $1,832 per month for singles).  Neither the Village of Morton Grove nor the Morton Grove Farmers’ Market administer this program, although farms at our Market accept the coupons.
If you are interested in receiving this benefit, visit the Catholic Charities office at 1717 Rand Road in Des Plaines between July 17 and July 19.  You will need to bring proof of income (such as a Social Security statement, current food stamp benefits, etc.) with you.  The program is limited to a first-come, first-serve basis, so we recommend applying in person on July 17.
Call Catholic Charities at (948) 376-2101 with any questions or visit https://www.fns.usda.gov/sfmnp/overview or  https://www.fns.usda.gov/sites/default/files/sfmnp/SFMNPFactSheet.pdf
